  • Hello, I’m also having the same issue with broken icon blocks with the latest WordPress 5.5 and 5.5.1 update as Oliver is having.

Please advise if there is a fix.

    Hi @webmandesign and @nathan-allen

Thank you for reporting the issue, this is a bug that occurred shortly after WordPress 5.5 update and has been addressed in versions 2.2.1 and above:

    https://github.com/godaddy-wordpress/coblocks/pull/1622

If you are using older versions, make sure to update your CoBlocks plugin

If not, try recreating the block first and nothing helps we will need to readdress the issue.

Thanks in advance, have a nice day,
    Andrija

    Hi @gdandrija,

    Thank you for the answer.

I am using CoBlocks 2.2.2 and the issue persist.

But my bad, I’ve probably provided a wrong info to start with. The issue is not with “Icon” block but rather the “Feature” block. The icon in the “Feature” block is experiencing the issue and I can not remove the icon and add new in there, only recreating the whole “Feature” block.

Was the fix in 2.2.1 you’ve mentioned applied just on “Icon” block and not the “Feature” block?

    Thanks.

    Oliver

Hi @gdandrija is there any update based on @webmandesign response? I’m using one of his templates so my issue is the same as his regarding the feature block functioning properly after the update to 5.5.1.

    Thanks!

    Hi @nathan-allen,

The only thing you can do now is to remove the existing “Features” block on your website and add a new one in the same place and edit it to your needs. Basically, you need to recreate the existing “Features” block anew. That way it works fine again.

Unfortunately, these types of issues are frequently common after updates of the new WordPress block editor (Gutenberg) from my experience. And so, I can only presume they will occur in the future too (not specifically with “Features” block of this plugin, but with others too)…

But once you set up your “Features” block correctly now, you should be perfectly fine in the future even if something changes. It’s just that you installed the theme demo content with dysfunctional “Features” block just at the time WordPress and CoBlocks plugin were being updated and the demo content of the theme is not.

It really seems like I need to check theme demo websites of my themes that use Gutenberg editor and fix what’s needed so the demo content is updated for WordPress 5.5.x. I wish Gutenberg editor had better implementation to fix similar issues… (From what I can see, the only issue in this case is upper- vs. lower-case letter in HTML output of the block and Gutenberg editor gets stuck on that little thing!)

    Best regards,

    Oliver

@webmandesign thanks will do that. Appreciate the help.
