    No. We do not use the wp uploader.

    We are doing this method already for many years: Saving the originals (See Table IX-H), but we are creating only 2 files up-front (display and thumbnail) and not 9 whereof 7 will hardly be used like wp does.

    If you want the files in all used sizes, use the ‘local’ CDN method in Table IX-K4. In this case only the files in sizes that will be actually used will be created.
    Saves a lot of money for the hosting provider when you have over 100.000 photos in the system…

    I think WordPress 5.3 will be released soon so this is certainly reassuring.
