My pages aren’t published yet, but I can’t edit them since the update. My widgets, visual/text editor options are not working after 3.5.2 update

  • Have you tried disabling your plugins/widgets since the issue started? If not go to your wp-admin, click on Plugins -> Installed Plugins -> Then click Deactivate on each of your plugins. What you want to do after you have disabled all of them, is turn them on one by one and test your WordPress editing ability to see which one caused the problem. Odds are this should fix your issue. Hope this helps.

Yes, I have the bookfresh and ultimate coming soon page plugins. I deactivated them both and then activated one by one, but I get the same outcome. Whenever I try to put something in my widget areas it no longer shows and I still cannot edit within the text editor but I can with the visual editor. I didn’t have these issues before the update! Thanks for your response, if you can think of something else it could be, do tell.

This may sound a bit elementary but have you tried clearing your browser cache? Also tried another web browser like FireFox or Chrome to see if you get a different result?

So, I decided to activate the default theme 2011 and things seem to work fine there with the widgets and visual/text editor…but not with my purchased theme.

You’ll need to ask the developer/vendor of your theme – as commercial themes aren’t supported here.

    Ok Thanks!

Check your account profile settings and uncheck option “Disable the visual editor when writing” if checked.
