WordPress 3.3.1 import from .com site not working

  • Hello

    I’m trying to import everything from my WordPress.com blog to my www.remarpro.com blog. but it’s not working. It says: This WXR file (version 1.2) may not be supported by this version of the importer. Please consider updating.
    I downloaded the importer just then, so it should be up to date, and the .org blog is the latest wordpress (3.3.1).
    Can anyone help?

    it seems to upload my media files fine, but no posts are being uploaded…

    I’m having the exact same problem.

    But it doesn’t appear there’s any help coming….. or am I just impatient? Seems to me that two weeks is a long time to wait for someone to help.

    I had the same problem and fixed it by editing the Exported XML from WP.com to change the version from 1.2 to 1.1 and importing all as existing user ‘admin’ as per this thread:

    This is the solution I copied from lan_dawei’s post:
    I created a local WP testcase to try this out.

    Yeah, I changed <wp:wxr_version>1.2</wp:wxr_version> to
    <wp:wxr_version>1.1</wp:wxr_version>. It got rid of
    the error banner/message that appeared at the top.

    I had to define the user as admin, and then when I started the actual import, I saw a number of error messages that said it was not read or imported (sorry, don’t have the exact message now), but when it was all done, checked the import and was successful.
