• I have, aparantly successfully install MU features, at least no errors showed…at first it was a subdomain install since I had an existing site (not sure how one would NOT have an existing blog)…I changed the wp-config.php and .htaccess variables to hopefully make it work as subdirectory instead…

Regardless, no errors or anything, but the super admin menu is not visible.

    Any advice?

Did you log off and log back in?

(not sure how one would NOT have an existing blog)

If it;s a fresh brand new install.

Did you visit the Network menu item as instructed? Or did you just paste commands in the config file & hope for the best?

Bu8t even with a fresh install it still has a blog, correct? I mean, it’s an empty one but it’s there? And yes, I did go to the network page and go thru it, then logged back in as told…

Yes, it does. The check is for 30 days. If the date on the post is 30 days or more, it only lets you pick subdomains becasue it stuffs a /blog/ in the permalinks on the main blog.

So on an established site with backlinks, you can imagine what happens.

Yes, you can override it manually after.

Oh, and you’re not using the 3.1 beta are you? Cuz the super admin menu has moved in 3.1.

Nope, 3.0.4, and I was doing all this over the course of a couple days, install, then do some site work, then look into multisite configuration…maybe I’ll just dump the db and reinstall.

I’m a drupal guy that has a project much better suited for WordPress this time around, and I have only had WordPress dev experience, not much administration…

The confgi defines have to be in the middle of the config file, not at the very end.

Also, gotta clear the browser cache.

yeah, the config changes were right where I was told to put them, in the middle and browser cache clearing did nothing.

Hard to say without more details. ?? Like a link to the site, for example…

Yeah, I’ll just dump the database and start over, it’s only garbage testing crap to delete, so no big whoop.

    Thanks for the help.
