WordPress 3.0.1 multi site and it's own directory

  • Hi all,

    I just installed my wordpress 3.0.1 and moved it to its own directory, so that the wordpress installed directory won’t show on the url. It works. By the way, I’d like to create multi-site. However, when I enabled the multi-site, it says Error: Your WordPress address must match your Site address before creating a Network.
    I was wondering how can I hide the wordpress directory and enable multi-site at the same time. Thank you

  • You can’t.

    this is the one situation that is written about that you just. can’t. do.

    You can install it in the root.
    You can install it in a folder.
    You can put it in its own directory as above and have blogs with the folder name in them

    You cannot install it in one folder, serve it out of the root, and have the blog look like they are served out of the root as well.
