• Hi,

I get an error “HTTP Error” when I try to upload a file to the media library, the upload progress bar completes then it says “Crunching” followed by the HTTP error.

I have checked the permissions and all okay.

I am having other issues 500 Internal Server errors when updating posts.

Could all this be related to security .htaccess or something.

Can anyone help with this issue?

    Thanks

  • hey ibc, I was having the same problem and I decided to remove my .htaccess file. It worked! now on to more google searches to find a work around .

I was having this same problem for ages! I read that Flash Player 10 isn’t compatible with WP, so I disabled my Flash Player in my web browser window. Tools, Add-Ons, then Flash should be listed under your Plugins. Of course, once I do that, I can’t view videos or some websites normally, but it can easily be re-enabled. Disabling this does allow my photos to upload normally into my Media Library or into Posts.

Solution is here: HTTP Error with WordPress Uploader

Has something to do with mod security.
