WordPress 2.7 can’t see MSQL database after upgrade

I have just upgraded from 2.5 to 2.7 on my blog

When I navigated to the wp-admin, I was asked to install. I went through that, thinking I could get my database to hook up with the new install. After checking the FAQs I changed the db_version in phpmyadmin and I got it to upgrade the db. However, it still has the basic “This is your first post” stuff there. I know the original db is there because I can see it on my MSQL login, and in the WP dbmanager plugin. However, I don’t know what I need to do next to get it to meld with my install.
