WordPress 2.6: Video Gallery not working.

  • I’ve been using WordPress for a while for not only blogging, but also to post photos to and break them up into organized galleries.

    Now I have several videos that I want to show up exactly as Image Galleries do when you just insert the entire gallery [gallery], however, when I upload videos and click insert gallery so it appends [gallery] to the post/page..they do not appear in the page at all.

    It’s like they are being skipped. Is this how WordPress is supposed to handle a Video Gallery? Inserting individually only inserts a direct link to the video file.

    WordPress does not have any ability to display videos in any way at all, gallery or not.

    Look for plugins to do that sort of thing.

    Will/can the plugins make use of the videos that I have already uploaded to the gallery or will I have to remove them and upload them separately?

    I’m wondering why video support isn’t better. I hope 2.7 will be bringing better support.

    I wouldn’t count on it for 2.7, but maybe… November is a ways away.
