• Occacionally I receive this error, when publishing a new post.

WordPress database error: [Lost connection to MySQL server during query]
    INSERT INTO wp_postmeta (post_id,meta_key,meta_value) VALUES (’11’,’_pingme’,’1′)

    Sometimes this does not occur.

The problem was already discussed, but no solution was given.

Is anything new about that out there?

Well, it looks like the pingomatic service is the problem. I have used the manual configuration too and got some time outs (for example https://xping.pubsub.com/ping/). Then I removed all ping services and the problem was gone.

Is it possible to set a higher time out value in wordpress or even better would you correct the problem in wordpress so that it automatically will disable unresponsable ping services on the ping services list?
