  • I would delete all the files inside /wp-admin and also /wp-includes. Then re-upload new ones and try again.

    I deleted all files (wp-admin wp-includes) and uploaded, but no luck ??

    I Think this is a problem with the software itself !

    First, make sure that your FTP client is set to upload the files in text (ASCII) format, and that it will not be automatically adjusting file names or permissions during the upload. Then, download WordPress again, delete all of your files, and upload the new copy of the WordPress files. Do not overwrite the files. You must delete the old files before uploading the new files.

    More than likely, this is not “a problem with the software itself”, because you’re the first person to report it.

    Thanks for your reply. I wish to stick with wordpress after reading the comments ! Its a good software, but it did not work for me ! :((

    I did not feel comfortable with the ftp client (TYPE A/ ASCII) Mode, so what i did is

    1) I Downloaded the files on the server, unpacked.

    2) Still it broke …

    I am not sure, where i go wrong.

    Why i said “a problem with the software itself” IS because of the below reasons

    1) Undefined index: SCRIPT_FILENAME – this tells me that a variable is undefined

    2) Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at – This tells me that the output has been sent before redirecting/transfer of an page

    I a novice in php. I use a windows 2003 server. Any more help please… ?

    Note: After installing i am able to create wp-config.php & DB Tables dynamically using the web interface !

    Finally I tried FileZilla ftp client, for upload (ASCII mode) – Still I am at no luck.. !

    Well, I Got it fixed myself !

    This error are due to error reporting defined in php.ini file, i changed the error reporting level to E_ERROR and got it working

    I am happy i got it working, but i never deny, the problems with this software. I request wordpress to build them an error handling module.

    This is weird,
    i’m upgrading wordpress from 1.5.2 to 2.0. Right before i upgrade, i’m seeing this error on the top header of the page.
    Windows 2003, IIS6, PHP4.4.1, MySQL Server 4.1

    I’ve performed such upgrades on my other server with Error handling at default set to E_ALL in php.ini. Where does the problem lie in? Moreover, when i upgraded, i shifted wordpress from debian (wp1.5.2) to windows 2003 (wp2.0)

    This look’s like incompatibility in some machines is it? Request that the developers look into this error strongly to avoid more of such errors coming out.
