    Hi Wordfence,

    The latest WordPress is killing the plugin. I had an older version of wordfence installed and tried the latest which still causes the same issue.

    With Debug Activated I get the following error. (* replaced the file-structure for security)

    Notice: Constant WFWAF_AUTO_PREPEND already defined in /*/*/*/*/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/wordfence.php on line 68

    Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to a member function setRules() on null in /*/*/*/*/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/lib/wordfenceClass.php:1124 Stack trace: #0 /*/*/*/*/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/lib/wordfenceClass.php(1767): wordfence::initProtection() #1 /*/*/*/*/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(287): wordfence::veryFirstAction(”) #2 /*/*/*/*/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(311): WP_Hook->apply_filters(Object(Validated), Array) #3 /*/*/*/*/wp-includes/plugin.php(478): WP_Hook->do_action(Array) #4 /*/*/*/*/wp-settings.php(403): do_action(‘plugins_loaded’) #5 /*/*/*/*/wp-config.php(93): require_once(‘/*/*/p…’) #6 /*/*/*/*/wp-load.php(37): require_once(‘/*/*/p…’) #7 /*/*/*/*/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/waf/.waf.php(1697): include in /*/*/*/*/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/lib/wordfenceClass.php on line 1124

    There has been a critical error on your website.

    Learn more about debugging in WordPress.

    I have to delete the plugin or change the plugin directory to wordfence_ on the back-end to deactivate it and then my site loads again.

    I’ve tried:

    – Shutting down ALL installed plugins and only having only wordfence activated. – Still creates the issue.

    – changing my custom theme I built and it still creates the issue.

    – delete temp files and clearing cache files – still creates the issue.

    – Threatening and cursing at the server & wordpress – still creates the issue (joking)

    besides going in and changing the code, I’ve tried it.

    Look forward to the update to Wordfence or some code replacement you will send that I can replace that will get me going again.

    Thanks,
    B
