I am chasing a hack on a few client sites. I’ve joined sitelock AND installed wordfence on all the sites. Two of the sites are coming up clean in wordfence, although sitelock says “We have detected a critical cross-site scripting vulnerability at your site stepaheadresidents.com”

Am I getting this conflicting report because wordfence isn’t checking this out? Can someone give me a bit more explanation? Thanks

I would contact sitelock and ask them for details. Then post them here and we can give you an opinion re why we aren’t alerting and if we should.

    Regards,

    Mark.

I have a similar issue with this. My site is hacked with phishing! can Wordfence fix it or remove it? Or do I need to upgrade it to premium in order to have my site fixed?

Or do I need to clean or fix my website first before I installed a WordFence plugin? I installed it last night after my site was hacked with phishing. I need to get my website fixed FAST! Do I need to remove a WordFence plugin first and then get it fixed then reinstall WordFence plugin?

    HELP is greatly appreciated!

@bradley: Wordfence can be used to help clean hacked sites, as long as you’re able to install it and run scans. We have a guide to cleaning hacked sites here, using Wordfence and other methods:
How to clean a hacked website

If you still have trouble and need more details, please make a new post using the form at the bottom of the Wordfence forum here. (The www.remarpro.com forum rules ask us to keep each person’s issues separate, and it also helps us keep track of open issues, so no one gets skipped in long/old posts.) Thanks!
