When Wordfence auto updated yesterday it broke the Woocommerce checkout at https://aussiebrewer.com.au. No products could be viewed in cart and checkout was a blank page below the header and menu.

In a hurry to get the site online I restored it to the day before. All worked well until this morning when the same thing happened again, because Wordfence updated.
I have tried installing Wordfence 6.1.0 instead but the checkout still won’t work while the plugin is activated.

I don’t like to leave the shop unprotected so in the meantime I installed isecurity, and that broke the checkout too!

So it appears this problem is connected with security rather than specifically Wordfence.
I would prefer to use Wordfence.

The shop lost $1000 while offline, so I am now experimenting with a copy of the site in a subdomain.

What can I do to make it work?

    Rob

  • Hi stingraynut,

I believe you are the first to report this issue. You might try putting the firewall into “Learning Mode”. I have no idea if that will help but that is a good place to start. If it works it will work right a way. So maybe just change the status and test real quick.

    Let me know.

Since you are having the same issue with another security plugin, it is possible you are running out of memory. Check your error logs and see if that shows any information that might help us out.

wflandon- you were correct, it was a memory issue, checkout was trying to use more than 256mb. Changed memory to 512 and all working SOLVED!
    Thank you
