• I updated Wordfence, and now I have to set the server configuration type, but any option I choose it showing me the following error

The changes have not yet taken effect. If you are using LiteSpeed as your web server or CGI/FastCGI interface, you may need to wait a few minutes for the changes to take effect since the configuration files are sometimes cached. You also may need to select a different server configuration in order to complete this step, but wait for a few minutes before trying. You can try refreshing this page.

I waited for an hour but nothing happened.

I can’t use the ‘Alternate method’ because i have no php.ini file.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

We’re working on additional automated options for hosts where the existing options are not working. Can you tell me what hosting company you are using?

In some cases, it’s possible to create a php.ini file in the site’s root, containing only the new auto_prepend_file statement (copied from the setup page), but on some hosts may have trouble with this, or may ignore it.

    Hi,

My website it’s hosted in my country: Romania.

Why should i thell them in order to fix the problem?

    Thank you!

    Hi Matt,

I got the same message ioanivan received. Am hosting with Fasthosts are there any new options?

    Cheers…Paul

Same problem here. It seems my install of new version is sort of working, but crippled. Problem is there is no way to know how crippled, it’s all very mysterious. We need firewalls more than ever, and the latest tells me it’s not working 100%. That’s just wrong, though typical of how WordPress and plugins seem to be behaving these days.

Can you give us more information about creating php.ini in site root? Does that combine with php.ini that’s above in site folder structure, or supersede it? How dangerous is it to create? Any way to test it?

    Thanks, MTN

    Still not working ??

I’m also having this issue. I’m using Pair Networks for hosting. I support two different accounts with them. I haven’t done the update on one of the sites yet as I wanted to resolve the problem with the first before I proceed to the second one.

The first is using CGI (the second is Fast CGI). Neither apparently have a php.ini file according to Pair support, but are using the server default. I tried creating a php.ini file with the single line of code, but I got an error on the site when I did that so I removed it. I can provide the error if that will help.

    Thanks,
    Tammy
