    Hello!,

for unknown reasons it seems my wordfence plugin is no longer able to start scans from two websites I mange in docker containers behind NPM

Diagnostics tab shows on both that there is a connectivity issue

    Connecting back to this site

wp_remote_post() test back to this server failed! Response was: cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10001 milliseconds

My IPs used by my server are listed properly here, and are not in the active block list behind wordfence firewall

It seems I cannot ping all wordfence IPs
    44.239.130.172
    44.238.191.15
    35.155.126.231
    54.68.32.247
    44.235.211.232
    54.71.203.174

Tested first two from host, firewall, cellular (not wifi), and from a VPN.

Is there an ongoing issue by chance?

My diagnostics are also having an error sending. I otherwise have WAN access, I actually re-deployed one of my sites, had no issues reinstalling the plugin, but scans will not run

    Hi @justdalek,

    Thank you for reaching out.

The cURL error 28 error is a common error and usually temporary

cURL errors are generated due to a problem with the cURL library on your hosting server. If the error is persistent, please reach out to your hosting provider so that they can resolve the issue on the hosting server causing the error.

Confirm that they haven’t blocked Wordfence’s scanning server’s IP address range from accessing your site. See the link below for IP addresses:

    https://www.wordfence.com/help/advanced/#servers-and-ip-addresses

In the meantime, try enabling the option “Start all scans remotely” found in the “Debugging Options” section at the bottom of the “Diagnostics” tab on the Wordfence “Tools” page and see whether it helps with the scans.

Let me know how it goes.

    Thanks,

    Janet

@wfjanet thanks for reaching back out!

unfortunately, scans are also not working today.

i cannot seem to ping those first three addresses from the server hosting WordPress, the firewall itself, from my cellular connection, nor can my colleague from his network elsewhere

should these IPs respond to ping? Otherwise, how else can I confirm connectivity to diagnose?

I have no outbound block rules in place nor any changes to firewall since these were deployed. Scanning used to work.

i tried to send diagnostic email, but that also does not work

    Hi @justdalek,

I will need your diagnostic report to troubleshoot further.

    Please try the below:

Navigate to Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostic page and then click the “Export” button. Send the txt file to [email protected]. Add your forum username in the subject and respond here once done.

    Thanks,

    Janet
