    Hi,

I have set Wordfence to block IP addresses of people trying to get to forbidden files and pages on my website for 2 days. In the beginning, it did just that. I would see that someone was blocked, and I’d see the “Unblock IP” button on the Activity Detail of every blocked entry in the Live Traffic tool that was less than 2 days old.

However, I have recently noticed that, whenever I check for blocking activity using Live Traffic, they are not being blocked beyond the first attempt. Instead, I see that a 503 was served, but see the “Block IP” button, which tells me that that IP was NOT block for 2 days as I have set.

I’m afraid this is a bug in recent updates, since it’s been a while I don’t change settings in Wordfence.

    Thanks,

  • Hi CB,

Thanks for bringing this issue to us, I can reproduce this issue at my end as well, so this one has been reported to our dev team for further investigation with internal reference number (#FB7113). However, I’ve verified that the IP will be blocked, you can double check that in (Firewall > Blocking) page, check the “Block Count” column, value there will increment by one whenever one of those IPs is blocked. It might be something not being fetched properly in the Live Traffic feed that results in “Block IP” button instead of “Unblock IP”.

    Thanks.
