I’m having the same issue. I had a few friends test, who visited my site per usual. And when looking at the logs, they were marked as grey.

What determines when human traffic is categorized as bots?

    Hi,
Can you limit this issue to some mobile browsers only?
What distinguishes “human” visits from other “bots” is a script we run that can detect certain browser events to mark this visit as human, so there are two things to think about here:
    – Maybe some of these events aren’t triggered on certain mobile browsers.
    – Or there is a JavaScript conflict on the page you are trying to load, so the script we use isn’t working as it should.

What I suggest is to try to use different mobile devices/browsers and watch for the “Live Traffic” log while switching between “All Hits” and “Humans” filter to see the difference.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Here’s two for you from my iPhone6s Plus – using Chrome, and Safari

    Safari on iPhone

    Chrome on iPhone

You can see that on the Safari one that ?wordfence)logHuman=1 and ?hid= is set, so (without knowing the internals of WF) I would assume this means the script has successfully detected this as `human’?

Let me know if there’s anything else you need to resolve this.

    Thanks

Sorry to be a burden, but non-tech-advanced user here. ??

Could you please explain why my human friends are being marked as bots, and what I can do to resolve?

    Hi Stephen,
Yes, that wordfence_logHuman query string is used to differentiate between “human” and “bot” visits, I wonder what you get when trying to visit any of these links with ?wordfence_logHuman=1&hid=123 using any of these specific browsers, do you get a blank page or you just get your page refreshed?

Also, what about disabling your plugins -temporarily- and revert back to the default WordPress theme? these steps would help in narrowing it down.

@tickett0 this kind of issues seem to happen due to a conflict between the script we use to detect human visit and certain plugin/theme installed on your website, which browser did you use for testing? the stock Android browser/Safari/Chrome?

    Thanks.

Thanks @wfalaa – Tested using Chrome on desktop, and Safari on mobile. Theme is EasyMag (for now).

These numbers also drastically differ from what Google Analytics reports. I’d assume GA has bot detection as well. What are your thoughts?
