• Hi, the current v2.8.3. version was released in september 2023, but you last updates the plugin 3 days ago on 23 april 2024 where you changed a few files in the repository without releasing an actual update. This causes the Wordfence security plugin to throws a warning because there are now 3 files in the repository that are different from the one in my WP Installations.

I saw it were just just minor changes, but you can’t changes files in the repository without releasing a new version, as it will trip a warning in every WP security scanner.

Can you please release an update?

    Thanks
    JP

Shoot, I didn’t even think of that! It always bugs me when plugins do releases just to bump the “tested up to” values, and now I get why they do it! The plugins team always tells us “no need to do a new release” when we bump the minimum/tested values, but I can totally see where that causes issues now.

Thank you for your reply and for the update you release!

It’s not an ideal situation. It’s weird to release a new version if nothing really changed, as it causes all users having to install the update, while on the other hand, bumping the version without an update causes warnings from security plugins.

I have asked WordFence before to ignore version bumps, but somehow they can’t or won’t. Unfortunately.
