• I recently got the protection level changed to Extended Protection. It took me a lot of searching to figure out how to accomplish this on my server because the “Optimize Wordfence Firewall” button didn’t work (probably due to a server configuration setting that I couldn’t change because I’m on a VPS hosting account.) I’ve checked the box for “Participate in the Real-Time WordPress Security Network” as well.

Now I’m seeing a lot of hits “blocked by the Wordfence Security Network” in the Live Traffic feed. Nearly all of these hits targeted …/wp-login.php. Will these hits continue to be blocked without my adding them to the Advanced Blocking or Blocked IP pages?

If I do permanently block an IP address or add a hostname into the Advance Blocking page, does this block these hosts and/or IPs for everyone that participates in the network?

If I block a host or an IP or an IP range or a top-level domain that perhaps should not be blocked, will this block traffic from those hosts, etc. for everyone on the Wordfence Security Network – or will they only be blocked from my website?

I do want to defend my website against attack but I don’t want to accidentally block legitimate traffic for myself or anyone else.
