I received this message,… fatal error because of Wordfence!!!

    Howdy!

Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, Wordfence Security.

First, visit your website (https://www.orthoscan.com/) and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (https://www.orthoscan.com/wp-login.php) and check for any visible issues.

Please contact your host for assistance with investigating this issue further.

If your site appears broken and you can’t access your dashboard normally, WordPress now has a special “recovery mode”. This lets you safely login to your dashboard and investigate further.

    https://www.orthoscan.com/wp-login.php?action=enter_recovery_mode&rm_token=….

To keep your site safe, this link will expire in 1 day. Don’t worry about that, though: a new link will be emailed to you if the error occurs again after it expires.

When seeking help with this issue, you may be asked for some of the following information:
    WordPress version 5.6.2
    Current theme: orthoscan2019 (version )
Current plugin: Wordfence Security (version 7.4.14)
    PHP version 7.3.27

    Error Details
    =============
An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 34 of the file /home/customer/www/orthoscan.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/vendor/geoip2/geoip2/src/Database/Reader.php. Hi @davidvanakkeren, thanks for reaching out to us.

This seems to be related to an issue that recently came to our attention regarding the GeoIP code library that converts IP addresses to their geolocation for your Live Traffic logs in Wordfence.

The specific issue is related to another plugin using a different version of this library which does not get treated as separate. The library seems to be seeing the other version and failing rather than just using the version we intended it to use in the Wordfence plugin folder. We have a development plan to resolve this from our end but I appreciate.

It would be helpful if we could get a copy of your diagnostics report so that we can look into other plugins you may have using this library. You can send this to wftest @ wordfence . com. You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

Note: For the fastest response time, please make sure and add any information or questions directly to this topic and not the email address above unless asked.

    Thanks,

    Peter.

    Hi @wfpeter,

We have this issue on websites which all have these two plugins in common:

Lead info with country for Contact Form 7
    Geolocation IP Detection

Hi @gstar, thank you for the additional feedback. I have made the development team aware of this for our planned changes to separate our version of the GeoIP library to try preventing this kind of conflict in future.

    Thanks again,

    Peter.
