Wordfence Scanning Server error notice

  • I have run into this problem setting up Wordfence Security for my website and it’s subdomain. It tells me that when I go to save the settings that the API Key is not connecting to the Wordfence servers. I am using the free version and have not had this issue with previous sites. I want to make sure my site is protected and like this plugin and all that it offers. Any help would be amazing.

  • Hi Admiral-A,
    Please check (Wordfence > Diagnostics => Connectivity) to see if your server can reach Wordfence servers or not, also make sure to activate this option down on the “Diagnostics” page “Enable debugging mode” then run a new scan and keep watching for any errors you may get in the activity log.

    You could also try uncheck “Enable SSL Verification” option under (Wordfence > Diagnostics => Debugging Options).
