Wordfence scan could not detect those 0 size file changes

    Hi,
    I just found that Wordfence Scan could not detect those ’empty file’ operations.
    Environment: have tested in pure wordpress docker with 0 extra plugins, then simply empty xmlrpc.php (or other files).

    Hi @truxton, thanks for making us aware of this issue!

    We have taken a look into this and have scheduled it as part of an update that should be released later today so keep an eye out for updates and our changelog notes.

    This arose because an empty file is considered safe when checking modified files as it can’t hold malicious code when there’s nothing there. We will change this when scanning for modified files since it IS still a modified file from the core WordPress installation so should be picked up at least as part of that.
