    I am getting this problem:

Call to Wordfence API to resolve IPs failed: We received an error response when trying to contact the Wordfence scanning servers. The HTTP status code was [0] and the curl error number was [7] and the error from CURL was: couldn’t connect to host

    I tried this:

Click to test connectivity to the Wordfence API servers

This connects to noc1.wordfence.com and shows you the status of the connection attempt. It is a way to verify that your server is able to communicate with our scanning server on both port 80 and the secure port 443.

If this test fails, please open a support ticket with your hosting provider and ask them to ensure that your server is able to connect to noc1.wordfence.com on port 80 and port 443. They may have to allow your server to connect through a firewall or configure a proxy to allow this connection.

I then followed up with my host and they confirmed that port 80 and port 443 are OK.

What should I do next to try to fix the problem?

    Thank you.

  • Can now confirm that WordFence is successfully running from Arvixe sites. I have asked the Tech guy for an explanation.

    And here is the explanation.

False positive on UTMP side which lead to the blacklist of noc1.wordfence.com’s IP. Greylist has been removed & IP has been whitelisted.

    All the best Ed.

Thanks for finding this out. ??

Around 5 AM a scan email was received from Wordfence toady. So, everything seems back to normal.

    Thanks all!

I’m noticing that my sites that I have not updated WordFence on will scan. Once I run the plugin update for ver. 5.3.11 I get the HTTP STATUS CODE [0] message.
