Hello, when running a scan it fails with the message “Scan Failed – The scan has failed to start. This is often because the site either cannot make outbound requests or is blocked from connecting to itself.” Under the diagnostic page the connectivity section reports this under the “Connecting back to this site” part – “wp_remote_post() test back to this server failed! Response was: cURL error 7: Failed to connect to https://www.chudleyinternational.com port 443: Connection refused”
Any idea what is happening? Many Thanks, Alan

  • Hi Alan,

It looks to me that your WP_HOME or WP_SITEURL may be misconfigured. If you look at the message it is attempting to connect to https://www.chudleyinternational.com on port 443. Port 443 is for https and would explain the failure.

When logged into your site, navigate to Settings->General. Check that both your Site Address and WordPress Address are both using https.

If that’s not it, then there may be something else configured strangely that is affecting the URL that is being used to start the scan.

Please let me know if this helps.

    Scott
