Wordfence scan comes up clean yet site has malware and browser security warnings

Our site contained malware and we first found out from users contacting us to let us know that the site was showing security warnings

Ignoring the warning and logging in to run Wordfence scan showed no malware, just outdated plugins

However Sucuri site check showed malware (Known javascript malware: spam-seo.hidden_content?82)

Updating all plugins and themes and passwords now means the site passes the Sucuri site check, however we are concerned that we cannot reply on Wordfence to report future security breaches
