Wordfence preventing media uploads

    Hi

    Using latest version of WordPress and WordFence.

    WordFence seems to be preventing image uploads on one of our websites.

    Keep getting the error message:

    “image.jpg
    An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.”

    If I deactivate Wordfence, media uploads work fine.

    Has anyone had this issue before?

    On another (potentially related) note. Also get a memory error:

    “Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 35913728) (tried to allocate 32 bytes) in …/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/lib/wordfenceHash.php on line 90”

    I asked hosts to increase memory limit to 512mb.

    The WordFence ‘Test your host’s available memory’ link output:

    The media library issue is probably related to the memory issue on the host — Wordfence normally will not affect media uploads. Sometimes a host may have more than one php.ini file, or some settings may be set in .htaccess or a php.ini file specific to your hosting account. If you have a php.ini for your site or a place to set PHP options in the host’s control panel, I would check there first.

    Near the bottom of the Wordfence options page, you can click the link that says “Click to view your system’s configuration in a new window” — sometimes this will help show additional .ini files that may include a memory limit.

    The host may also be able to help in any case. It’s possible they limit memory in multiple ways and only changed php.ini without changing something else.

    Not sure where or how to ask, but WordFence warns me not to use the plugin Hupso Share Buttons. What’s wrong with Hupso? Is WordFence being over-protective? Thanks.

    That plugin hasn’t been updated in over a year. I wouldn’t use plugins that are not updated frequently as WordPress updates. Check out their “Last Update Date”.

    A different question. At Settings, General, it offers you the option of putting in the URL for the non WP site that my WP blog is embedded in. In WP Address I got
    https://www.medicaldentaltourism.net/blog
    In Site Address I got
    https://www.medicaldentaltourism.net/
    However, it does not work. When I’m at
    https://www.medicaldentaltourism.net/
    and click on Blog (under About Us), it only goes to the WP blog if Site Address says
    https://www.medicaldentaltourism.net/blog
    the same as WP Address.
    Why won’t it work? What can I do to fix it?
