A friend is with a web host that recently changed his sites’ pathways. This resulted in the following PHP error when visitors tried to access his sites:

Warning: Unknown: failed to open stream. No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0 Fatal error: Unknown: Failed opening required '/old-path-here/wordfence-waf.php' (include path='.:/usr/local/lib/php-7.3.2-xenial/lib/php') in Unknown on line 0

His web host support suggested updating the ‘auto_prepend_file’ path in the .USER.INI file to the current pathway.

This seemed to work, and the sites are back on line now.

Is there anything else that should be done, given this unusual set of circumstances?

Hello @jpecsenyicki and thanks for reaching out to us!

If the pathway to the wordfence-waf.php was altered then this is a normal issue. Depending on your setup, you have to edit the auto_prepend_file to point at the wordfence-waf.php, in your case the user.ini.

This was the correct process to fix it! Let me know if you have any other issues!

    Thanks again!
