There’s a conflict with jQuery 3.3.1 and wordfence.

I get this error in the console whenever I have jQuery 3.3.1 active:

    $(…).wfselect2 is not a function.

I haven’t tested other versions of jQuery yet. Unsure what my options are?

  • Hi @jamjam79

I know that the recent version of WordPress includes jQuery version 1.12.4, including an updated version like 3.3.x might cause different conflicts as WordPress itself isn’t supporting that, there is an open ticket here which should support that in one of the upcoming released of WordPress, but this isn’t the case for now. So this error you see in the console doesn’t necessary mean that Wordfence isn’t compatible with jQuery 3.3.1 but it could be something else in WordPress is broken due to using this version which breaks Wordfence as well.

    Thanks.

The plugin “WP Real Media Library” caused this problem at one of our websites. My colleague just found this out.
