    Hello,
First off, I love Wordfence. One of my most essential plugins for all my sites!
However, I’ve noticed that I have a problem with the flyout Nav Menus in my WordPress admin section in one of my sites when Wordfence is activated.

When I hover over items like “Dashboard,” “Posts,” “Media,” or “Pages,” those handy little flyout menus don’t show up. Only when I click on the main menu item (e.g. “Settings”) do they appear, and then it’s too late, because it takes me to that main page.

A minor inconvenience, to be sure, but one that should be addressed nonetheless.

When I deactivate Wordfence, the flyout menus work again. When I reactivate WF, the problem persists.

Thank you in advance for taking a look at this.
Hope it can be fixed soon.

UPDATE: I realize that this issue may be unique to me, SO does anyone have any suggestions on WHAT the heck might be happening here, and how to fix it?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hey @tonypearl,

I do believe this is going to be unique to your environment.

It sounds like there might be a conflict either with the theme or one of the plugins you’re using, could you try temporarily switching to a default theme if you’re not already using one and disabling all other plugins then reactivating them one by one to see if the issue persists?

To do so I recommend the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin which allows you to disable all plugins and switch to a default theme, but only for your user.

Please let me know what you find.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald

Thank you, @wfgerald – I appreciate you taking the time to make that suggestion.
I’m sure you’re right that this problem is unique to my specific environment.
I did try your suggestion of using the Health Check & Troubleshoot plugin… but it didn’t help, even when in Troubleshooting mode.
I had already tried disabling all plugins and using a different theme. Nothing.
The curious thing is that the flyout menus DID work for a little while with no explanation, then just stopped working just as mysteriously.

Oh well. Looks like I’m going to just have to deal with this minor inconvenience.

    Thanks again for your suggestion.

    Hey @tonypearl,

While I appreciate the understanding and willingness to make due, I’d like to see this resolved for you.

Would you be interested in resetting Wordfence to see if it helps?

    Please let me know.

    Hey WFGerroald,

That did it!! I completely deactivated then deleted everything, then went back in and freshly reinstalled it.
And…success! Flyout menus and everything work perfectly.

Perhaps I should have mentioned that this installation was from a migration, so I believe that some data must have been corrupt or impacted by the migration.

    In any case, problem solved.
THANK YOU very much for your assistance & persistence.
