I am using WordFence and I get an email alert anytime an admin logs into the website.

Now the IP address doesn’t show but I am getting the following:

    User IP: 2601:182:cf80:8400:f911:ff09:8f76:bf76

How can I get this back to the IP address? I am using CloudFlare setting “Use the Cloudflare “CF-Connecting-IP” HTTP header to get a visitor IP. Only use if you’re using Cloudflare.”

    Hi @surfyourname,

The IP being reported is an IPv6 address. We saw issues a couple of months ago where Cloudflare’s CF-Connecting-IP wasn’t correctly reporting visitor IPs, but this was resolved from their end.

So that I can look into your configuration more closely, can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

Note: For the fastest response time, please make sure and add any information or questions directly to this topic and not the email address above unless asked.

    Thanks,

    Peter.

    Hi @surfyourname,

As we’ve not received a diagnostic or heard back you may have contacted the host over displaying IPv6 addresses.

If you have any further Wordfence questions in future, please start a new topic and we’ll be glad to help you out any time.

    Peter.
