• Hi,

this plugin is still the best in its category. I love it. Just recently, I encountered one issue.
When trying to add new maps, the wordfence firewall I use with WordPress assumes that the command of saving the maps page is malicious. it blocks the request and I can whitelist it, but I have to start basically from scratch again with the new map. It happens everytime I add a new map. Editing maps seems to be fine.

Alternatively, does anyone know a (better) alternative to Wordfence. I am not a big friend of them anymore after I asked on Twitter why they use more or less clickbait titles for important security announcements recording WordPress. After that, the CEO blocked me from his personal, which I never contacted, and the business (Wordfence) Twitter account. I think that’s a dick move for complaining about that. Don’t we want to get to know if our websites are affected right away instead of having cryptic headlines and you have to read a long way before you find out if you are affected? Probably just to drive traffic. Sorry, I am getting off-topic here.

I just wanted to throw that out there, that wordfence is thinking that saving the base maps is something harmful. I can send you a screenshot, but there is not much to see what the actual issue is. Just a very generic message. I don’t know if anything else with Waymark is affected, I will update if I find future issues.

@joe keep up the work and keep this plugin alive and maintained. It really is amazing.

  • Hello,

Let wordfence go and try for example SG security from Siteground. I use cloudflare also for a bit more security, it is more then enough. Security is very important, but your website accessibility is far more important.
