WordFence firewall can't write to htaccess

  • Hi, I’m unable to install the firewall because WordFence can’t write to .htaccess. I see in another post that the permissions are supposed to be 644, I’ve checked and they are. I don’t know what to do next.

  • I had the same problem, I also have wp security, and since the message said there could be a conflict with another plugin, so I deactivated wp security, went back to Wordfence firewall, and the configuration worked. I re-activated wp security and all is good, hope so it has only been a few hours since this, but message said Wordfence firewall was fully configured woo hoo

    hope it helps someone, because I really have not worked in computer programming etc for 40+ years, and things are much different today
