It has been 4 months since i have tried to manually update my firewall rules with no success. All my other website are able to update with no problems.

i also want to find out if copying the rules.php from a different website which is up to date and moving it to the website that doesnt update will fix the update rules issue.

Hi @cerovy2, thanks for your question.

It’s worth firstly checking your Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page to see if you’re getting any red errors under the IP Detection, Connectivity or Filesystem headings specifically, but let me know if you see others.

If everything seems to be in order regarding how your site obtains data from our servers and writes it, you should be able to delete the wflogs folder or its contents entirely at any time via FTP or your hosting File Manager and Wordfence should try to repopulate it within 30 minutes.

If you experience regular cases updates failing, you can bypass this folder entirely by setting Wordfence to write to the MySQLi storage engine instead: https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/mysqli-storage-engine/

    Thanks,
    Peter.
