Wordfence is reporting a MEDIUM level issue, namely a file change to the installed plugin:

    Filename: /home/DOMAINNAME.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/password-protect-page/admin/class-ppw-admin.php
File Type: Plugin Details: This file belongs to plugin “Password Protect WordPress Lite” version “1.9.0” and has been modified from the file that is distributed by www.remarpro.com for this version. Please use the link to see how the file has changed. If you have modified this file yourself, you can safely ignore this warning. If you see a lot of changed files in a plugin that have been made by the author, then try uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin to force an upgrade. Doing this is a workaround for plugin authors who don’t manage their code correctly.

Yes, but why should I have to? Per my pulled quote above “…Doing this is a workaround for plugin authors who don’t manage their code correctly.”

Seems to me the issue is on your end.

    Hi @artdavis,

Have you uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of the PPWP Lite plugin to check if the issue has been resolved?

I believe Wordfence clearly recommends, “If you see a lot of changed files in a plugin that have been made by the author, then try uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin to force an upgrade.”

If you don’t cooperate with us, there’s little we can do to resolve the situation.

    Awaiting your reply.

    Wordfence does say that.

It also clearly says “… Doing this is a workaround for plugin authors who don’t manage their code correctly.”
