Were there any additional plugins, updates, or configurations around the time this started happening that you’re aware of?
If you send a test email is its formatting lost as well? You can test this by navigating to Tools > Diagnostics > Other Test, which is at the very bottom of the page. You’ll notice two options to send test emails.
Send a test email from this WordPress server to an email address
Send a test activity report email
If so, can you test for a conflict by disabling all other plugins and send the test emails to see if the formatting is still lost? If it isn’t, reactivate the plugins one at a time while sending the tests each time to find the culprit(s), if any.
