• I posted this query in the Plugin and Hacks forum three days ago but have had no response so hope this may be a more appropriate forum. Using the Wordfence option ‘”Immediately block the IP of users who try to sign in using these usernames’ I’ve listed a number of names that people have used (and continue to use) to try and log-in to my site. But the log-in attempts continue: today I had 52 attempts in the space of 15 minutes, most of which used names that are, supposedly, on the blocked list. Why is this happening and how can I stop it?

Just to be a little more precise about my problem. Even though the log-in attempts come from different IP addresses every time, they’re all allowed 3 attempts at logging in before they’re blocked (That’s the limit I’ve set on log-in attempts). What I don’t understand is why they’re allowed three attempts when the blocking option says ‘immediate’ lock out.

    Hi,

Do you have any other plugins that change the login process? Other security plugins, or captcha plugins could cause a conflict with this feature.
