It continues to block me on all sorts of pages. What has alarmed me is that it is blocking GT Metrix and even Google bots (Live Test on search console). Reverting back to the version prior to 7.8 also didn’t solve the problem. I’ve deactivated the plugin for now, and naturally things are fine now. If I can find a solution in the next few days, it’s fine. Or else I’ll try some other plugin. I suspect I won’t be the only person seeing this problem.

    WordFence Team,

Thanks for not responding. And when I scanned through other responses, I found that there are many like me. I thought this is a forum where the plugin creator chips in with their responses. I solved the issue after great deal of stress and few days, which could've been done in few seconds with support from you. Most of my good impression about your product has now evaporated. Better not have a support forum than have one and not respond. Remember, you're not offering a free service here. It's a business model: Many free users convert to paid customers if they've good experience.

Thanks for your thoughts on Wordfence.

First, I need to correct you misunderstanding of the forums and how they work.

    • These forums are operated by www.remarpro.com. Wordfence does not manage them at all.
    • Per forum guidelines and rules these forums are 100% voluntary. Voluntary for you to seek help in or help others and voluntary for all the plugin authors to support or not as they see fit or are able.
    • We do not offer support over the weekend for any product except Wordfence Response. If you would like to upgrade, you can read more about it here:
      https://www.wordfence.com/products

Pete, who normally works in the forums, is a trained and paid Wordfence Customer Support Engineer. He had a family emergency and couldn’t be here to answer your question today. I am trying to help by picking up what I can. I apologize for the delay.

I’m glad you were able to sort out your issue. Part of the reason the www.remarpro.com (not just Wordfence) forums exist is so users can help each other. It would be great if you could post what the problem turned out to be and the solution you found so that anyone else had this issue they could fix it too. These forums are indexed by Google so solutions here are visible to many people.

Just so you know, roughly 90% of our users are free users. We launched Wordfence with the idea that everyone deserves to be able to protect their website from hackers. We offer a plugin that has a full range of features, all fully functional, to protect websites. We also provide documentation online to help people solve their issues, which is also linked to throughout the plugin, so they can better understand and utilize the plugin. We aren’t able to provide 24/7 support here and no one would reasonably expect that. If you feel like the support is not up to par then we wish you well in whatever security solution you choose to go with instead.

While I’ve empathy for Pete, the issue was posted well before the weekend. Go and see if others are raising the same issue of non response, or am I the only person. Second, I compare you with other plugins on WP. I’ve seen that even free ones are helpful with their response. And well, you didn’t hesitate to pitch your paid product in such a situation.
