    Dearest Wordfence Team,

    I host on wpengine and they recently banned (tonight the auto uninstall happens) the wordfence plugin.

    Reasons given:

    1.) Duplicates caching
    2.) Database Bloat on live monitoring
    3.) Scans use too much resources
    4.) Valid users get blocked (Those users should read the manual but whatever)

    My question is can you ***PLEASE*** create a stripped down version for us WPengine users??????? I loved the country blocking and it really helped mitigate spam from China; but now that is all gone and so we have no valid alternatives that aren’t expensive as hell.

    THANKS

    @shawnlunny:
    Finding another hosting company seems like a good idea. ??

    Bogus host, drop ’em like a hot potato. One of the best things I ever did as a problogger was start paying the extra monthly for more robust hosting.

    Use a plugin like Stop Spammers for spam.

    You are already paying WPEngine to secure your site.

    They emailed us on the 23rd of April telling us they were going to do this and the reason why: “due to a large overlap in functionality, we are going to be adding Wordfence to our disallowed plugins list next week”. We did a quick audit and discovered they’re a tiny part of our free and paid customer base (less than 1%). So we didn’t even bother to publish anything.

    Then they emailed their customers claiming problems with Wordfence – see above. Needless to say I won’t be buying drinks for their staff in future (as I have in the past).

    You know what to do.

    Regards,

    Mark.

    I’m on Bluehost. They officially recommend this plugin for their customers. Thanks for this great plugin Mark.
