  • Hi chuckm97,
Are you still having this issue? what happens exactly when you press “Activate” link on the plugins page?

Let me know if you get any error message or something.

    Thanks.

Well it won’t even let me access the site now? I don’t know how to fix it to try it again. Help!

May I ask how do you know that Wordfence is blocking you from accessing to the site? did you see any error message or something saying “You are temporarily locked out” for example?

If you have FTP access, then you can rename the plugin folder under (/wp-content/plugins/wordfence) to something like (/wp-content/plugins/wordfence_deactivated) and this will deactivate the plugin as if you didn’t install it at all.

Check this guide in case you are sure you have been locked out because of Wordfence, remember that Wordfence will always tell you the reason why you are locked out.

    Thanks.

It may be that I need to change ports but I don’t know how and still get to work

Well I renamed WordFence and now it has open up my wordpress site. I haven’t renamed the file back to its regular name because I am afraid it will take me out again

It’s not clear for me if it’s Wordfence that caused this issue or any other reason, because:

If you are locked out by Wordfence you’ll see a message giving you a reason you’re locked out and explaining how to unlock access to your own site.

Please follow “How to reactivate Wordfence once you’re regained access” steps mentioned in this guide.

    Thanks.

The reason is that the file is too big. It just sits there and circles and circles. How I change WordPress to accept bigger files I have no idea. I do know that when I rename the file and try to go back into my website it brings it right up without WordFence. So I need to learn how to change a file to make it accept the bigger file or try and find another Security plug-in none of which I understand how to setup.
