Installed Wordfence from zip file. Logged into multisite dashboard and attempted to activate Wordfence plugin. Received the following error:

Warning: include(/var/www/html/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/lib/wfIPWhitelist.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/html/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/waf/bootstrap.php on line 158

Validated that this file is indeed missing and is not included in the zip file distribution.

    Suggestions?

    Hi,
I suggest deleting the plugin directory from (/wp-content/plugins/) by connecting to your website via FTP/SFTP using FileZilla for example, then log in your network dashboard and install Wordfence from there, remember not to install and activate the plugin on every single site you have on the network, check this guide for more details.

Let me know how it goes,
    Thanks.

It took some work to get my site to permit SFTP updates (ultimately used a plugin to solve that) but installing Wordfence from the dashboard did the job.

    Thanks!
