    Hi

For some reason Wordfence custom icon does not work with Admin Menu Editor, I guess they are inserting their icon differently to other plugins.

When setting a custom icon it just appears over the top of the Wordfence icon, is there a way to solve this?

    Thanks

Yes, Wordfence sets the menu icon in a different way. The current version of AME doesn’t have a workaround for that particular approach to setting menu icons.

This should be fixed in the next plugin update.

Ok that is great to hear thanks ??

    Hey @whiteshadow ,

We are watching this topic as well. We updated your plugin to V1.11.2. Still, the Wordfence icon cannot be changed. Perhaps we missed something.

    Cheers ??

Hmm, are you using one of the included Font Awesome icons, or a custom image? When I was writing that patch, I verified that it works with FA icons, but I don’t think I tested images.

    Hey @whiteshadow,

As you can see here (test case), we were able to change the icon of four plugins, except Wordfence. We’re using the built-in dashicons of your plugin.

Yielding the floor back to you and @mdeluk. Would be nice to know if your fix worked for him.

    Thank you ??

I just tested the current version of the plugin with Wordfence 7.10.4 and Dashicons appear to work fine:

Is this maybe happening on a site where AME was installed a long time ago? If so, go to the “Settings” tab in the plugin, scroll down to the bottom, and make sure that this option is enabled:

“Attempt to override menu icon CSS that was added by other plugins”

    Magical! That did it.

Was that setting or option added in V1.11.2? If so, we missed it.

    Thank you. Your plugin rocks!

    All right, good to hear.

That option was added a while ago but apparently, sometimes options that are supposed to be on by default don’t actually get turned on automatically. I’m unsure what causes that; it could be some unknown bug.

We may have inadvertenly disabled that checkbox in the past.

Anyway, problem fixed. It should be OK to closed this topic as “Resolved.”

    Again, thank you.
