Word Press Updates 3.91 back to 3.83 Every few days

  • I am getting tired of this. I have 3.9.1 and every few days I get a notification from word press that it has automatically upgraded me to version 3.8.3 And I have to reinstall 3.9.1 and update all my plugins. I had one suggestion that I deactivate the plugins, then update to 3.9.1 then reactivate the plugins. That did not work. So has anyone any information on how I can stop Word Press from Automatically Downgrading me to the version I have already upgraded from by telling me it is an upgrade. Obviously it is not. You guys who love coding, please tell me how to stop it.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.
