• Because of how the plugin works, it might hang the webserver & prevent the site from working when you activate it on a site with large amount of images (several gigabytes).

    Hi andrejm,
it is correct that the first load with the index might take a bit if one has many images. It is actually not about the size of the images though, but the simple amount.

How many images in your case?

    Thanks

    Hi andrejm,

I checked again and was wrong. The index that was made on activation was removed in version 1.6.

There is no bulk function that takes up performance any more. Please check again or point me to the problem. I would be eager to fix it.

    Thanks

    Thomas,

it’s hard for me to point you in the right direction since the particular wp installation (admin part) stopped responding for >10mins. Simple plugin delete solved it. We tried on two different windows machines (common laptop setup of these days) with vagrant (allocated memory 1GB and 2GBs). No idea what other info would be helpful. I really appreciate your interest.

As for the number of images, SELECT * FROM wp_posts WHERE post_type = ‘attachment’ returns 69211 lines.

Thank you for your feedback. These are indeed a lot of images, but with the bulk index being turned off I also have no idea what might have caused this.

I will try to keep this in mind or maybe someone else can also post a ticket if this happens on other sites too.

    Thanks
    Thomas
