• Hi
I can get access to the cpanel of our website but can not find the word press file under the public FTP file.
I dont know what to do so I can create a word press template for the website.

I also notice that the disc space useage is at 82% how can we increase that space please.
    Regards
    Cherylynne

Your website files are under “public_html”

disc space useage is at 82% how can we increase that space please

This is 82% of the quota that your hosting plan allows you. Your options are to upgrade your hosting plan to a larger disk quota. OR you can see how your space is being used and manage from there.

    Hi
The wordpress file is not under the public_html file either! Also how do you upgrade the hosting plan and what is the cost please

Who is your current host? You should contact them regarding the space upgrade costs.

What is in public_html if not WordPress?

In the Public_html file is only two files:
    cgi-bin
    index.html

Are you sure you are in the correct cPanel account?

If this is the entire contents of public_html, then typically it would be impossible for this site to be serving any website content, if they are using cPanel.

I suggest you contact your hosting provider about this issue.

Yes it is the correct cPanel account. Our website has not been created yet. Thats what I’m trying to do but no word press. I will contact my host provider.
    Tks

In the Public_html file is only two files:
    cgi-bin
    index.html

That is exactly what I want to see in the public_html of a hosting account … “nothing” ?? Whatever ends up there, I put it there.

If your hosting account is indeed using cPanel, that is, you see it presented in this way somewhere (log in screen, etc.), then there should also be an “automatic” installer named either QuickInstall, Softalicious or Fantastico Deluxe or a combination thereof. Note that “cPanel” is a brand name for a specific hosting control panel software and should not be used as a contraction for “control panel” as they can be vastly different.

Using one of the auto installers is the easiest way to get WP onto your hosting account.

Ok thanks. As I am unaware of what these three do would you be able to tell me which would be the best to use for my word press website?
    QuickInstall, Softalicious or Fantastico Deluxe

Log in to your hosting control panel. Do you see any of the three items there?

Also, it would help a lot if we knew who your hosting company is so that we can determine what type of options they provide.

Yes I do see the three but not sure which is the best or easiest to use.

It is a little unusual to be offered all three.
I have used Softalicious and Fantastico, preferred Softalicious. One of the issues that used to occur with these installers was that they installed old versions. Now that WordPress does automatic updates, this is not an issue.
The bottom line is that it doesn’t matter which you use.
