Hi @sonarscope
WooPayments disappeared after last update ?
From what I understand, you’re having trouble with WooPayments disappearing after a recent update. Let’s dive right into some troubleshooting steps to get this sorted out.
- Clear your browser cache: Old information stored in your browser cache might be causing this issue. Try clearing it to see if that fixes the problem.
- Verify your WooCommerce settings: Make sure that the WooPayments payment method is turned on in your WooCommerce settings.
- Check for plugin conflicts: Another plugin could be conflicting with WooPayments. Try disabling all other plugins besides WooCommerce and WooPayments and see if the issue continues.
- Look for Theme conflicts: If the plugins aren’t the issue, it could be a conflict with your theme. Try switching to a basic WordPress theme like Storefront and see if WooPayments comes back. Here’s a helpful guide on how to test for conflicts: ?? How to Test for Plugin and Theme Conflicts
- Reinstall WooPayments: If none of these steps work, you might need to reinstall WooPayments. You can do this in the ‘Plugins’ section of your WordPress dashboard. Deactivate and delete the WooPayments plugin, then reinstall and reactivate it.
?? Just a quick reminder: Before you make any changes, we strongly recommend that you create a backup of your full site and database. This is a crucial step to ensure that in case anything goes wrong, you can easily restore your site to its previous, functioning state.
Give these steps a try and see if WooPayments reappears. If you’re still having trouble, we could use more details. Screenshots and any error messages you’re seeing would be really helpful. You can use https://snipboard.io to share screenshots. Just follow the instructions on the page and paste the URL in your reply.
Also, we’d find it helpful if you could share your site’s System Status report. This will give us a better understanding of your site’s setup and help us pinpoint the problem. You can find it via
WooCommerce > Status
. SelectGet system report
and thenCopy for support
.Lastly, could you share the fatal error logs (if any) under
WooCommerce > Status > Logs
.Once you have that, please paste it inside a Code block in your reply, or use https://pastebin.com/ to paste it and share the link with us.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation in this matter. I’m looking forward to your response so we can solve this issue for you.

Great job on reinstalling WooPayments! It’s fantastic to see that it’s up and running again. I understand that you’re awaiting a new credit card payment. To ensure everything is functioning correctly, why not conduct a test transaction? Simply create a low-priced product, buy it yourself, and then issue a refund. This will confirm that your customers won’t encounter any payment issues.
Remember, if you run into any difficulties during this testing phase, we’re here to assist you. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any other questions or concerns. We’re always ready to help!

Thanks for reaching out and for running the test transaction. The message you received, “You must capture this charge within the next 7 days”, indicates that the payment is authorized but not yet captured. This is a standard part of the payment process, allowing you to modify the order amount if necessary before capturing the funds.
You can capture an authorized order in two ways: through the WooCommerce > Orders page or via Payments > Transactions. Both methods achieve the same outcome, but the latter is quicker if you have multiple orders to capture.
Here’s how to capture a charge for an authorized order under Payments > Transactions:
- Click the Uncaptured tab to show the list of uncaptured transactions.
- Click the Capture button for the order you wish to capture payment for.
- The payment will be captured, and a notice will appear at the bottom.
If you decide to cancel the order after it’s been authorized but before it’s been captured, you can follow these steps:
- Go to WooCommerce > Orders in your site’s dashboard.
- Find the order you wish to cancel and click to open it.
- In the Order Actions box, use the dropdown to select Cancel authorization.
- Click the Update button.
Although authorizations automatically expire after seven days, it’s advisable to cancel them if you’ve decided not to charge the customer. This action releases the hold on their funds by their bank. You can find more information about ?? Authorize and capture Here
If you need to issue a refund, you can do so from the usual WooCommerce dashboard:
- Go to WooCommerce > Orders.
- Search for the order using the customer’s name, email, or order number.
- Click the order to open it.
- Scroll down a bit below the items list and click the Refund button.

I hope this information is helpful! If you have any other questions or need further clarification, please don’t hesitate to ask.
