Woocommerce – Want to receive order email only when paid

I’m using Woocommerce with the Worldpay extension, I currently receive an email when an order is placed but before the order is paid for. This means I have to double check every order to see if it definitely has been paid for. I only want to receive an email when the order has been paid for.

I asked the woothemes support team, who I’d paid ￡40 for the worldpay extension, this is what they said –

“This would require customizing the behavior of the core WooCommerce plugin, as it will send emails when orders are ‘on-hold’ or ‘pending’. A developer or a user very familiar with development and programming could create a custom function to change the default email behavior, but it’s unfortunately not something we can provide assistance with.

Because of the nature of the redirect-method of the payment gateway, the WooCommerce order is generated before going to the third-party site. This is required as it will need to store the cart contents in an order before leaving the site. Unpaid orders will be marked as ‘Pending’ rather than ‘Processing’ or ‘Completed’, so there will be a visual difference between paid and unpaid orders.
