We have a giftbox business that sell a range of custom branded boxes that include a either a bottle of wine or a bottle of wine with 2 wine glasses.

There are 4 varieties of wine in 3 different qualities (12 different wines in total) and 2 different glass sizes in 2 different qualities (4 glass variables in total)

The boxes come in different types and sizes – this creates the product range. The type and number of glasses in the box is set by the box chosen.

The price will change with the variables below.

The variables available once a box is chosen are:
    1. The type of wine (red, white, sparkling etc.)
    2. The quality of wine (gold, silver, Bronze)
    3. The box branding (not compulsory to have as a variable as we can usually figure this out by the customers company – most are repeat customers)

I have been trying to figure out how to create products that allow customers to choose the variables in a way that enables stock control of the products that make up the box (Usually 1 box, 1 bottle of wine and 2 glasses)

I have tested variable products, grouped products, product bundles and composite products but cannot find a solution that gives the variables and stock control combined.

I currently have the site setup using variables products which works fine but does not allow for stock control of the variables.

    Any guidance would be appreciated.

It sounds like a job for the Product Bundles or Composite. Make each variable a separate product add them to the bundle and let the customer choose a bundle. If you have 1 wine and 2 glasses in the bundle as separate products, than 1 item will be deducted from the wine product and 2 items from the glasses product.

Am I missing something from the requirements?

    Hi,

It does sound like WooCommerce Product Bundles will help you with the stock control management.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
