    Hello,

I recently updated Woocommerce to the latest version. I added new products to my website, but realised they weren’t showing in Instagram, so I checked the integration with Facebook and it’s as if it had never been linked.
I attempted to link the app but it says I will need to remove the connection with the existing page in order the use it, meaning I lose all the product tags on my Instagram page (likely also meaning I have to start from scratch).

Has anyone encountered this problem? I can’t seem to get around it, either in Woocommerce or Catalog Manager (in Facebook)…please help!

Pop-up message before I try and link page: facebook this page is already in use. A page can only be connected to one Woocommerce store at a time.

Error message when I try and select page to go NEXT:
A Facebook Page can only be connected to one store at a time. The Biographies is already in use by another WooCommerce store. You can remove the existing connection to use the Page for this store, or you can select a different Page.

…which prompts me to delete the existing connection, which then tells me I’ll lose product tags on posts.

Hi Julie, thanks for getting in touch.
I couldn’t wait as I needed to begin posting again so removed the previous connection – meaning I’ve lost 2 year’s worth of shop content.

Is there a way to reverse this?

    Best,
    Steph

    Hi Steph! ( @beingchosen1 )

I’m so sorry for the issues you’ve experienced here. Can you please be a bit more specific as to the shop content you’ve lost? Is it on the Facebook side or the WooCommerce side?

    Thanks for any other details!

Okay. So about a year and a half ago, I installed the plugin to connect my shop in WordPress to Facebook, meaning I could now tag products on Instagram etc. All was fine.
I recently added new products but identified I couldn’t promote them on Instagram because they didn’t appear. I went to check the integration via the plugin, but it was as if my shop was never connected (it prompted me to connect as if it was the first time).
Followed the steps to do this, however I was told that there is a connected page already (which is true, it’s referring to the first time I linked the page). I was then told in order to proceed, I would need to disconnect this existing page, meaning I lose my shop and all the previously tagged posts on Instagram.

After trying to work out how to avoid this both via the plugin and the Catalog manager in Facebook, I had to acquiesce. Hence, I’ve lost all my shop content on Instagram. Hopefully this now makes sense?

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Many thanks again

    Hi @beingchosen1!

Thanks for filling in the extra details here, and I am sorry that the reconnection caused the Instagram history to be removed! The Instagram connection is a bit of a black hole for us, as the plugin is only responsible for connecting your WooCommerce products to your Facebook catalog. From here, Facebook takes over and allows you to link your catalog to Instagram. Though we do try to help where we can!

The creation of the catalog, the shop page, and linking it all together is done via the Facebook API, so actions such as deleting catalogs, removing shop links, and the requirements to do so are part of this.

In this case, it does sound like the reconnection of the store by recreating the catalog has caused the history to be lost on Instagram as you say. Have you tried reaching out to Facebook directly, or tried to reach out for support on their community forums?

I’m really sorry I don’t have a better suggestion at this point! Is the plugin now connected again and your products are syncing back to your catalog though?

    Cheers,

    Simon.
