    1) If Force 3D Secure is enabled, will the 3DS popup appear even if the order total is equal to zero? (for Woocommerce Subscriptions with a later renewal day)

    2) Once the 3D Secure authentication is done at sign-up will that cover future renewals of the subscriptions? Or will some cards always need manual authentication ( means for each renewal the customer will need to pay it manually through the checkout page to accept 3DS popup)?

    Thanks,
    Andreas

    Hi @bitma,

    1. That’s a good question. If you’re on the checkout page then the force 3DS option would not be called for a subscription with a zero total. Stripe would handle whether or not 3DS should be triggered. I’ll add that into a future version.

    2) Once the 3D Secure authentication is done at sign-up will that cover future renewals of the subscriptions?

Once 3DS is performed at sign-up, it will not be required for future renewals. Cards will not need manual authentication for renewals.

Excellent! It has coursed us a lot of problems but with that update, it will perfect for us. Any idea when you will have it implemented?

Thanks for your great plugin and support!

Keep in mind that just because you’re forcing 3DS that doesn’t necessarily mean it will be required. Not all payment methods support 3DS so in those instances even the force option will not render the authentication modal.

Stripe’s default logic is still in place to render the 3DS modal when they deem it necessary.

Yes, I am sure we will still have problems. But hopefully fewer problems ??

Do you have an idea of when it will be implemented? Just a rough estimate – I am not keeping you accountable if it takes longer – it’s just to have an idea if it will take weeks, months, half, or whole years.

    Hi @bitma,

I will add that in the next release which will most likely be released in a few days. One week at the most.
